Carol was born in Savannah, Georgia on September 24, 1955 to Jimmy Jack and Willa Mae Borah. A happily well-traveled Air Force Brat, she spent her early childhood in England, and much of her later childhood in Goose Bay Labrador where she first fell in love with the beauty and wonder of the great outdoors.

Carol graduated from Denison High School, where she met her husband, Joe, the father of her three children. She earned a BA in Education from the University of North Texas, and she touched and inspired numerous lives teaching elementary education for 35 years in Grayson County, as well as in Carrolton and Arlington.

Carol was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her son Jesse and his wife Rebecca and their baby daughter Ava of New Mexico; her daughter Sarah, her son Joseph, her grandson Asher, and her mother Willa Borah, all of Grayson County. Additionally she is survived by her brother Jimmy and his wife Lynda of Denison, her brother Donny and his wife Shelly of Pottsboro, and her brother Danny and his wife Sonja of Sherman. Carol will be remembered with great love by students, colleagues, friends, and by Farallon, the family Labrador Retriever, with whom she enjoyed daily walks along tree-lined paths.

Even throughout her recent illness, Carol’s trademark kindness and perseverance were a true inspiration to everyone whose path she crossed. Her greatest loves were spending time with her children and grandchildren, teaching, and traveling. Some of her favorite places to visit with family were the mountains of Colorado, California’s northern coast, and most recently, the peaceful and beautiful New Mexican desert.

Cremation arrangements are made with American Funeral Home in Denison. A public memorial celebration to honor Carol’s life will be held on Sunday, May 10th at 4 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn in Denison at 5015 S US 75, with a family prayer and wildflower ceremony at the Red River to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Carol Reinhard Memorial Fund at Independent Bank (903) 891-9999 at 300 E. Taylor Street, Sherman, TX 75090 to help fund the purchase of a memorial bench for everyone’s future enjoyment at one of Carol’s favorite places in nature, exact location to be determined.

On Carol’s behalf, the family wishes to thank Home Hospice of Grayson County and the Nursing Staff at Texoma Medical Center for their compassion, kindheartedness, and generosity.
